Christopher Quinn and CVS - For All The Ways You Care

Christopher Quinn's series of mini-documentaries for CVS has hit the airwaves and the Interwebs. Check out the dedicated microsite at www.forallthewaysyoucare.com. The shoot took Quinn and the Chelsea crew across the country, starting in Albany, New York, then heading to Witchita, Kansas and finishing up in Fruitland, Idaho.

Johan Kramer's Sing for Darfur Win European Independent Film Festival Award

Chelsea Director Johan Kramer's latest film project, Sing for Darfur, won "Best European Dramatic Feature" at the European Independent Film Festival.  From the press release:

The European Independent Film Festival (ÉCU), Europe’s premier event for independent cinema, announces the 2009 festival award winners. An audience of several hundred gathered in the Grand Auditorium of the Bibliothèque Nationale de France, Site François-Mitterrand, to applaud the 113 talented independent filmmakers from 27 countries whose films were competing for the title of “Europe’s Best Independent Film” during the weekend of 13th – 15th March, 2009. Lauren Greenfield Featured At Inaugural Show of Annenberg Space for Photography

Chelsea director Lauren Greenfield is a featured photographer in L8S ANG3LES - exhibition of 8 LA Masters. The gala opening event is March 25 and the show runs through the summer. Greenfield will also be lecturing at the Annenberg in late May, so look out for more info on that.

David Gordon Green Goes Eastbound & Down

Did you like Pineapple Express? Then you will love Eastbound & Down - the latest comedy series from HBO, starring Danny McBride (Tropic Thunder, Pineapple Express and Superbad. HBO writes:

Relief Pitcher Kenny Powers was poised to rule the Big Leagues, but two things got in the way: his fading fastball and his insufferable personality. After a spectacular career flame-out, Kenny came home to Shelby County, NC and picked up a job as a substitute gym teacher (mostly so his brother Dustin would stop threatening to kick him out). He's spent every moment since then cashing in the last of his dying fame while plotting his inevitable comeback... one beer at a time.

Will Ferrell’s company, Gary Sanchez Productions, is producing the six-episode season for HBO, and Green trades off directing duties with Jody Hill and Adam McKay.

Finally, A Trailer for Eastbound & Down

Based on the BBC mini-series of the same title, a team of investigative reporters work alongside a police detective to try to solve the murder of a congressman's mistress. The original series starred Bill Nighy and launched the career of James McAvoy (who later starred in Kevin MacDonald's Last King of Scotland), and the film stars Russell Crowe, Ben Affleck, Helen Mirren, Rachel McAdams, and Chelsea favorite Jason Bateman.

Chelsea at AICP Holiday Party

As usual, Chelsea was thrilled to attend the annual AICP holiday party, held this year at The Plaza. Frankly, our pictures are not the best, but considering the open bar and unlimited fatty food, it's a Christmas miracle we took pictures at all. Toys were brought for Tots and a fantastic time was had by all!

Not sure why we look so grim, we were having a great time.

Michelle was suspicious of the drink, and rightly so.

Desserts! We ate of them. It was awesome / kinda gross.

James Franco Gets A Golden Globe Nod for Pineapple Express!

Dear Sony Pictures, please add "Golden-Globe Nominated" to the DVD packing for Pineapple Express.  Because it is!  James Franco has been nominated for "Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture - Comedy or Musical" for his role as Saul Silver in David Gordon Green's Pineapple Express.  Congratulations to Franco, Green, and everyone involved in the film!

Straight outta’ Dublin, the Script pair up with Mehling again for their latest single, “Breakeven”. The band is currently slated to open for U2 in their summer 2009 performance in Dublin's famous Croke Park.

Fox Greenlights David Gordon Green’s Good Vibes

Time to get excited. David Gordon Green is teaming up with a Simpson’s animator to create a new animated show for Fox. From the Hollywood Reporter: Written by Green and to be drawn by Brad Abelson (The Simpsons), Vibes revolves around a crazy group of high school students living in a Southern California coastal community. Chris Wilcha Wins Emmy for This American Life: Season Two!

Wilcha comes through with the win for Outstanding Directing for Nonfiction Programming. Congratulations to Wilcha and co-director Adam Beckman and all the other nominees!

Pineapple Express Officially A Blockbuster!

Not to brag, but David Gordon Green's summer stoner comedy is an official blockbuster.  After a massive opening weekend and solid following weeks, Pineapple now has an international gross of over $100 million.  Congrats to David and everyone involved with the film!
