Charles Mehling Rocks London with Kate Moss

Chelsea Director Charles Mehling has been busy rocking out in London, where he has just finished shooting a campaign for Rimmel London for JWT. The English cosmetic company is celebrating 10 years with London Supermodel, Kate Moss as their brand ambassador.

On Thursday, September 15^th, Rimmel London celebrated at Battersea Power Station, ushering in the launch of Kate’s first cosmetic collection for the brand, entitled “The Kate Moss Lasting Finish Collection.” The party was awash with London celebs, including, but certainly not limited to, Rimmel Spokeswomen, Georgia May Jagger, Solange Knowles, and Alejandra Ramos.

Charles Mehling directed each spot in the campaign with his signature rock and roll panache. The centerpiece of the multiplatform campaign is a new 4 minute film featuring The Vaccines playing their hit single “If You Wanna,” with special guest star Kate Moss herself rocking out on drums and guitar. Very cool. Check out the film below.

Last week was a fun one here in the NYC Chelsea offices, with Charles Mehling in town from Paris shooting his third Olay spot for Saatchi & Saatchi NY. Another Super Cute Kid, Just Because

Following up on our picture of Orson, here's the photogenic Ruby, daughter of Chelsea director Charles Mehling. Despite looking in the lens in this shot, she is not actually directing, that job was left up to Charles. In this case, a massive 20 day shoot in southeast Asia for Proctor & Gamble in China, the results of which will get posted here in the not too distant future.

Charles Mehling's work in beauty advertising and his deep connection to the music scene come together flawlessly in the new music video for Corinne Baily Rae's latest single, "Paris Nights / New York Mornings". Mehling's dreamy portrait of the singer in the cafes and streets of Paris pairs seamlessly with the Rae's airy, uptempo melody. The single comes Rae's sophomore album "The Sea", described by Rolling Stone as "both reckoning and rebirth...Fragile arrangements — guitar, auto-harp, orchestra — suggest indie rock ("Are You Here") as much as R&B (the Isley Brothers-ish "Closer"). Rae celebrates love .... and confronts death with the greatest weapon: life, fully lived."

Straight outta’ Dublin, the Script pair up with Mehling again for their latest single, “Breakeven”. The band is currently slated to open for U2 in their summer 2009 performance in Dublin's famous Croke Park.
